The clinical negligence after the event (ATE) insurance scheme has been specifically developed for specialist clinical negligence law firms by a leading After The Event (AA - Rated) UK Insurer.

In comparison to some of the other clinical negligence after the event schemes available on the market, the Clinical Safeguard, clinical negligence ATE scheme can offer specialist law firms cover for the claimant from the date of entering into a ‘no win, no fee’ conditional fee agreement (CFA).

Pre-investigative costs that are incurred from the date of the CFA can often be the first form of exposure to the claimant. The Clinical Safeguard Scheme is a delegated authority scheme that can allow the law firm to cover the claimant from the date of the conditional fee agreement. Each ATE policy has a staged indemnity of a maximum overall limit of £250,000. Bespoke policies and schemes, including indemnity top-ups can be available for individual cases.

Furthermore the Clinical Safeguard scheme will not pursue the claimant for any shortfall in the amount of premium that is able to be recovered from the defendants.
